Binate Journal is a private journaling app for Work and Personal reflection. The app is designed to help users capture experiences, organize journal entries, and revisit lessons, memories, and people patterns. This policy covers the Binate Journal iOS app and related support requests.

Information we collect

Binate Journal may collect information needed to provide account access, journaling, sync, search, Daily Prompt, Lessons, Memories, People, privacy, notification, and support features.

  • Account information, such as email address, authentication identifiers, and sign-in provider information for Apple, Google, or email sign-in.
  • Journal content, such as text entries, Work or Personal space selections, categories, Daily Prompt responses, optional photos, optional voice recordings, and optional voice transcripts when speech recognition is used.
  • App-generated insight data, such as Lessons, Memories, and People patterns created from eligible journal entries when AI processing is enabled.
  • Search, index, progress, review, habit, privacy, app-lock, notification, and AI-processing preferences used by app features.
  • Support information you choose to send, such as your email address, issue description, screenshots, or screen recordings.

How we use information

We use information to provide and operate the Binate Journal app, authenticate accounts, sync account data across devices, respect user preferences, support app reliability and security, and respond to support requests.

AI processing

Binate Journal may use AI processing to turn eligible journal entries into Lessons, Memories, and People patterns. You can control whether new entries are processed by AI by default in the app's privacy settings. AI-generated insights may be incomplete or incorrect and should be treated as reflective aids, not professional advice.

Important safety notice

Do not use Binate Journal as a medical, mental-health, legal, financial, or emergency service. If you need urgent help, contact local emergency services or an appropriate professional.

Third-party services

Binate Journal may use third-party services to provide app functionality. These providers may process information according to their own terms and privacy policies.

  • Firebase Authentication for sign-in.
  • Cloud Firestore and Firebase Storage for account data and synced content.
  • Firebase Cloud Functions for backend processing.
  • Apple and Google sign-in providers when you choose those methods.
  • Apple device services such as Face ID, Touch ID, notifications, and speech recognition where enabled.

Data sharing

We do not sell your journal content. We do not share your journal content with advertisers. Data retention

We retain account and journal data while your account is active or as needed to provide the app. You may request deletion of your account or data by contacting support. Some information may be retained where required by law, security needs, dispute resolution, or legitimate operational requirements.

Your choices

You can manage several privacy and account choices in the app or through iOS settings.

  • Control AI processing defaults in the app.
